An application running on a remote web server host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Splunk Enterprise installed on the remote host is 9.4.x prior to 9.4.15, 10.0.x prior to 10.0.10, 10.2.x prior to 10.2.7, or 10.4.x prior to 10.4.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple internally identified vulnerabilities as referenced in the SVD-2026-1002 advisory. Splunk groups the findings by weakness class, with one CVE assigned to each class, including:

- Improper control of a resource through its lifetime. (CVE-2026-76282)

- Protection mechanism failure. (CVE-2026-76283)

- Improper access control. (CVE-2026-76281)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Splunk Enterprise to versions 10.4.3, 10.2.7, 10.0.10, and 9.4.15, or higher.
