ImageMagick < 6.9.13-47 / 7.x < 7.1.2-22 Information Disclosure

low Nessus Plugin ID 362651

Synopsis

The remote host has an application installed that is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The remote host has a version of ImageMagick installed that is prior to 6.9.13-47, or 7.x prior to 7.1.2-22. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability.

- ImageMagick before 7.1.2-22 and before 6.9.13-47 contains an information disclosure vulnerability in the PasskeyEncipherImage method due to AES-CTR nonce reuse. Attackers can exploit nonce reuse in the cipher implementation to recover plaintext information from encrypted images. (CVE-2026-56369)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to ImageMagick version 6.9.13-47 / 7.1.2-22 or later.
