Synopsis
The CentOS Linux host is missing one or more security updates.Description
The CentOS Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare CENTOS7:CLSA-2024:1725650489 advisory.- Stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in orcparse.c of ORC versions prior to 0.4.39. If a developer is tricked to process a specially crafted file with the affected ORC compiler, an arbitrary code may be executed on the developer's build environment. This may lead to compromise of developer machines or CI build environments. (CVE-2024-40897)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
