Description

The CentOS Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare CENTOS6:CLSA-2026:1778147777 advisory.

 - In Exim before 4.99.2, when JSON lookup is enabled, an out-of-bounds heap write can occur when a JSON operator encounters malformed JSON in an untrusted header, because of an incorrect implementation of \ skipping. (CVE-2026-40685)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory CENTOS6:CLSA-2026:1778147777.
