Synopsis

The CentOS Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The CentOS Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare CENTOS7:CLSA-2025:1741624133 advisory.

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udf: fix uninit-value use in udf_get_fileshortad Check for overflow when computing alen in udf_current_aext to mitigate later uninit- value use in udf_get_fileshortad KMSAN bug[1]. After applying the patch reproducer did not trigger any issue[2]. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlegacy: Clear stale interrupts before resuming device iwl4965 fails upon resume from hibernation on my laptop. The reason seems to be a stale interrupt which isn't being cleared out before interrupts are enabled. We end up with a race beween the resume trying to bring things back up, and the restart work (queued form the interrupt handler) trying to bring things down. Eventually the whole thing blows up. Fix the problem by clearing out any stale interrupts before interrupts get enabled during resume. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: io_edgeport: fix use after free in debug printk The dev_dbg(&urb->dev->dev, ... which happens after usb_free_urb(urb) is a use after free of the urb pointer. Store the dev pointer at the start of the function to avoid this issue. (CVE-2024-50267)

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: core: zero-initialize the report buffer Since the report buffer is used by all kinds of drivers in various ways, let's zero-initialize it during allocation to make sure that it can't be ever used to leak kernel memory via specially-crafted report. (CVE-2024-50302)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory CENTOS7:CLSA-2025:1741624133.
