Unity Linux 20.1050e / 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: ntp (UTSA-2026-090102)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 348947

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-090102 advisory.

ntpd in ntp 4.2.8 before 4.2.8p15 and 4.3.x before 4.3.101 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by sending packets, because memory is not freed in situations where a CMAC key is used and associated with a CMAC algorithm in the ntp.keys file.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected ntp package.
