Synopsis

The version of Autodesk Shared Components installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Autodesk Shared Components installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 1.12.0, or 2.x prior to 2.2.0. It is, therefore, affected by an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability.

A maliciously crafted IFC file, when parsed through certain Autodesk products, can trigger an Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability. A malicious actor may leverage this vulnerability to cause the application to terminate unexpectedly, resulting in a denial-of-service. Exploitation requires a user to open a specially crafted IFC file. (CVE-2026-14255)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Autodesk Shared Components to version 1.12.0 (for the 1.x branch) or 2.2.0 (for the 2.x branch) or later.
