Description

The version of IBM MQ Server running on the remote host is 9.1.0.0 prior to 9.1.0.38 LTS, or 9.2.0.0 prior to 9.2.0.44 LTS, or 9.3.0.0 prior to 9.3.0.42 LTS, or 9.4.0.0 prior to 9.4.0.26 LTS, or a 9.3.x / 9.4.x CD release, or 10.0.0.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 7284908 advisory.

 - IBM MQ 9.1.0.0 through 9.1.0.37 LTS, 9.2.0.0 through 9.2.0.43 LTS, 9.3.0.0 through 9.3.0.41 LTS, 9.3.0.0 through 9.3.5.1 CD, 9.4.0.0 through 9.4.0.25 LTS, 9.4.0.0 through 9.4.5.1 CD, and 10.0.0.0 could allow an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the application server due to improper validation of JNDI names in the Resource Adapter Installation Verification Test application. (CVE-2026-12354)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM MQ 9.1.0.38 LTS, 9.2.0.44 LTS, 9.3.0.42 LTS, 9.4.0.26 LTS, 10.0.0.5 CD or later.
