Synopsis

remote Windows host is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiClient installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-26-165 advisory.

- A unverified ownership vulnerability in Fortinet FortiClientWindows 7.4.0 through 7.4.7, FortiClientWindows 7.2 all versions may allow attacker to improper access control via <insert attack vector here> (CVE-2026-84386)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

For 7.2.x, see vendor advisory. For 7.4.x, upgrade to FortiClient version 7.4.8 or later.
