JFrog Artifactory < 7.133.11 Privilege Escalation

high Nessus Plugin ID 345850

Synopsis

An application installed on the remote host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the version of JFrog Artifactory installed on the remote host is prior to 7.133.11. It is, therefore, affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

- JFrog Artifactory (Self Hosted) versions before 7.133.11 are vulnerable to a privilege escalation attack due to a validation check of the token signature/issuer and not the token's scope. (CVE-2026-42016)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to JFrog Artifactory version 7.133.11 or later.
