Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS / 26.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-8731-1 advisory.

 It was discovered that MiniUPnPd contained an integer underflow vulnerability in SOAPAction header parsing. A remote attacker could use this issue to cause a denial of service or information disclosure by sending a malformed SOAPAction header with a single quote.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected miniupnpd, miniupnpd-iptables and / or miniupnpd-nftables packages.
