Several issues have been found in PCRE2, a Perl Compatible Regular Expression library, which could result in denial of service or possibly execution of arbitrary code if patterns can be attacker-controlled.

For Debian 12 bookworm, this problem has been fixed in version 10.42-1+deb12u1.
