Synopsis

A VPN client installed on the remote macOS host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Palo Alto GlobalProtect App installed on the remote macOS host is 6.0.x prior to 6.0.15, 6.2.x prior to 6.2.8-h13, or 6.3.x prior to 6.3.3-h14. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities collectively known as Global Un-Protect:

 - Local privilege escalation vulnerabilities enable a local user to escalate their privileges to root on macOS and Linux. (CVE-2026-0299)

 - A buffer overflow vulnerability enables a man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacker or a rogue gateway to disrupt system processes and potentially execute arbitrary code with root privileges. (CVE-2026-0297)

 - A race condition enables a locally authenticated low-privileged attacker to escalate their privileges to root. (CVE-2026-0295)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Palo Alto GlobalProtect App version 6.0.15, 6.2.8-h13, 6.3.3-h14 or later.
