Synopsis

The remote host has a BIOS that is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

Dell Client BIOS contains an Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Arbitrary Write.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the BIOS version.

Solution

Update the BIOS per the vendor advisory.
