TencentOS Server 3: sg3_utils (TSSA-2026:0906)

high Nessus Plugin ID 341095

Synopsis

The remote TencentOS Server 3 host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Tencent Linux installed on the remote TencentOS Server 3 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TSSA-2026:0906 advisory.

Package updates are available for TencentOS Server 3 that fix the following vulnerabilities:

CVE-2026-16313:
A flaw was found in sg3_utils. The sg_inq command, when invoked with the --export option, outputs device identification data without sanitizing control characters in SCSI name string fields. A newline character embedded in a device-supplied name string can inject arbitrary properties into the udev device database.
This could allow an attacker who can present a crafted SCSI device to execute arbitrary commands as root when the device is disconnected.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Tencent Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
