Description

The version of IBM Java installed on the remote host is 7.1 prior to 7.1.5.31 / 8.0 prior to 8.0.8.70. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the IBM Security Update August 2026 advisory.

- In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.60, a crafted .class file with deeply nested annotations causes a segmentation fault. (CVE-2026-16440)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Apply the appropriate patch according to the IBM Security Update August 2026 advisory.
