Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Firefox ESR installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 115.39. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the mfsa2026-75 advisory.

- Internally found bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.38, Firefox ESR 140.13, Firefox ESR 153.0 and Firefox 153. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption or another security-relevant defect and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited. (CVE-2026-74990)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox ESR version 115.39 or later.
