Unity Linux 20.1050e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2026-102127)

high Nessus Plugin ID 337321

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-102127 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fbdev: fix potential buffer overflow in do_register_framebuffer()

The current implementation may lead to buffer overflow when:
1. Unregistration creates NULL gaps in registered_fb[] 2. All array slots become occupied despite num_registered_fb < FB_MAX 3. The registration loop exceeds array bounds

Add boundary check to prevent registered_fb[FB_MAX] access.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
