The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016 installation on the remote host is missing security updates. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:- Improper authentication in Microsoft Office SharePoint allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. (CVE-2026-62827)
- Missing authentication for critical function in Microsoft Office SharePoint allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. (CVE-2026-64921)
- Deserialization of untrusted data in Microsoft Office SharePoint allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network. (CVE-2026-63514)
Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Microsoft has released the following security updates to address this issue:- Update to version 16.0.5565.1001
