Description

The version of Windows Package Manager (WinGet) installed on the remote host is prior to 1.29.280. It is, therefore, affected by an elevation of privilege vulnerability:

- An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Windows Package Manager that allows a local attacker with low privileges to gain elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-68821)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Windows Package Manager (WinGet) version 1.29.280 or later.
