Synopsis

The remote host is affected by an elevation of privilege vulnerability.

Description

The version of Windows Package Manager (WinGet) installed on the remote host is prior to 1.30.80. It is, therefore, affected by an elevation of privilege vulnerability:

- An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Windows Package Manager that allows a local attacker with low privileges to gain elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-68821)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Windows Package Manager (WinGet) version 1.30.80 or later.
