Synopsis

A module in the Node.js JavaScript run-time environment is affected by multiple denial of service vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of the axios Node.js module installed on the remote host is 0.28.0 prior to 0.33.0 or 1.x prior to 1.18.0.
It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - Uncontrolled recursion in formDataToJSON when an application passes attacker-controlled FormData field names with thousands of nested bracket-delimited segments causes unbounded recursion in buildPath(), exhausting the JavaScript call stack and causing denial of service. (CVE-2026-67312)

 - Uncontrolled recursion in formDataToJSON when processing FormData field names with deeply nested bracket segments. Attackers can supply FormData with field names containing thousands of nested brackets to exhaust the JavaScript call stack and trigger RangeError. (CVE-2026-67313)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to axios version 0.33.0 / 1.18.0 or later.
