Synopsis

A module in the Node.js JavaScript run-time environment is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

The version of the axios Node.js module installed on the remote host is 0.31.1 prior to 0.33.0 or 1.15.1 prior to 1.18.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

 - An incomplete depth-limit bypass in toFormData.js when serializing objects with top-level keys ending in '{}'. Attackers who control object keys and nested values passed to axios form or parameter serialization can trigger a RangeError from JSON.stringify, causing denial of service in the affected request path.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to axios version 0.33.0 / 1.18.0 or later.
