Synopsis

A mail server on the remote Windows host is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

The remote Windows host is running a version of MDaemon Email Server that is affected by a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.
An attacker can send a specially crafted HTML e-mail message with JavaScript in an img tag. This could allow a remote attacker to load arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of a webmail user's browser window, and access user data.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MDaemon Email Server version 20.0.9, 21.0.8, 21.5.6, 22.0.7, 23.0.4, 23.5.5, 24.0.4, 24.5.3, 25.0.3, or later.
