Synopsis

An IDS/IPS solution running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of OISF Suricata installed on the remote host is 7.0.13 or later but prior to 7.0.17. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

- Suricata could be crashed or made to consume excessive resources when processing crafted network traffic, leading to denial of service. (CVE-2026-57228)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Suricata to version 7.0.17 or higher.
