Suricata 8.0.x < 8.0.6 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Plugin ID 330412

Synopsis

An IDS/IPS solution running on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of OISF Suricata installed on the remote host is 8.x prior to 8.0.6. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities, including:

- Suricata could be crashed or made to enter an infinite loop when processing crafted network traffic, leading to denial of service. (CVE-2026-63446)

- Suricata could be crashed or made to enter an infinite loop when processing crafted network traffic, leading to denial of service. (CVE-2026-63447)

- Suricata could be made to consume excessive resources when handling specially crafted protocol data, resulting in degraded performance or denial of service. (CVE-2026-63452)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Suricata to version 8.0.6 or higher.
