Synopsis

An application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Rockwell Automation Arena installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 17.00.01. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the model.exe (Siman) component due to improper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an out-of-bounds write. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process by convincing a user to open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-8085)

 - A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the expmt.exe (Siman) component due to improper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an out-of-bounds write. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process by convincing a user to open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-8312)

 - A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the linker.exe (Siman) component due to improper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an out-of-bounds write. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process by convincing a user to open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-8313)

 - A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the siman.exe (Siman) component due to improper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an out-of-bounds write. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process by convincing a user to open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-8314)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Rockwell Automation Arena 17.00.01 or later.
