Synopsis

An application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of Rockwell Studio 5000 Logix Designer installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability. Due to incorrect authorization on a configuration file, any authenticated user can modify the paths of external tools configured within the application. An attacker could alter the configuration to point to a malicious executable, resulting in arbitrary code execution when any user interacts with the external tools functionality. (CVE-2026-9127)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Rockwell Studio 5000 Logix Designer version 32.05, 33.02, 34.02, 35.01, or 36.00 (as applicable to the installed release branch), or later.
