high Nessus Plugin ID 326868

Synopsis

The Microsoft Word Products are affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The Microsoft Word Products are missing a security update. They are, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- Use after free in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
(CVE-2026-55032, CVE-2026-55128)

- Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2026-55038, CVE-2026-55055, CVE-2026-55134)

- Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2026-55127, CVE-2026-55130)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Microsoft has released KB5002890 to address this issue.
