Synopsis

The remote host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

The version of Kibana installed on the remote host is 8.x prior to 8.19.15 or 9.x prior to 9.3.4. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability:

 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CWE-770) in Kibana can lead to a denial of service. An authenticated user can submit a specially crafted bulk deletion request that causes excessive resource consumption, which may render Kibana unavailable. (CVE-2026-49087)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Kibana version 8.19.15, 9.3.4, or later.
