Synopsis

An application running on the remote web server is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of BeyondTrust Remote Support (RS) running on the remote host is prior to 25.3.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities, including:

 - A critical pre-authentication vulnerability in the authentication subsystem. Improper validation of authentication data may allow a network-positioned attacker to bypass access controls and gain unauthorized access to the appliance, including accounts with elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-40138)

 - A critical pre-authentication vulnerability in the authentication subsystem. Improper processing of authentication requests may allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to bypass access controls and gain unauthorized access to the appliance, including accounts with elevated privileges. (CVE-2026-40139)

 - A high-severity vulnerability in a web application component related to the processing of certain input parameters. Insufficient validation of user-supplied input may allow an authenticated attacker with limited privileges to access unintended resources or data beyond their authorization scope. (CVE-2026-40141)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to BeyondTrust Remote Support (RS) version 25.3.3 or later.
