The remote web application server is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 7279256 advisory.

- IBM WebSphere Application Server is affected by a cross-site request forgery, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input to the Administrative Console. By persuading an authenticated, privileged user to visit a malicious URL during a limited timing window, a remote attacker could send a specially-crafted request to execute malicious and unauthorized actions. CWE: CWE-352: Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) (CVE-2026-8408)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8.5.5.30, 9.0.5.29 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH71384.
