Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS / 25.10 / 26.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-8481-1 advisory.

 Haruto Kimura discovered that NSS had incorrecty handled parsing PKCS#11 URI escape sequences. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause NSS to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or obtain sensitive information.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libnss3, libnss3-dev and / or libnss3-tools packages.
