Amazon Linux 2023 : ansible-core, ansible-test (ALAS2023-2026-1849)

high Nessus Plugin ID 322065

Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2023 host is missing a security update.

Description

It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2023-2026-1849 advisory.

A flaw was found in ansible-core. The ansible-galaxy role install command processes dependency specifications from a role's meta/requirements.yml file. Due to improper neutralization of argument delimiters, a malicious role author can inject arbitrary git configuration flags through the src field.
This allows arbitrary code execution on the machine of a user who installs the role via ansible-galaxy role install. (CVE-2026-11332)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the tested product security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'dnf update ansible-core --releasever 2023.12.20260622' or or 'dnf update --advisory ALAS2023-2026-1849 --releasever 2023.12.20260622' to update your system.
