Synopsis
The remote web application server is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.Description
The version of IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability as referenced in the 7276560 advisory.- IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty, when using Intelligent Management with the WebSphere WebServer Plug-in component, are vulnerable to remote code execution and denial of service. This vulnerability can be exploited when an attacker impersonates backend servers and sends crafted responses to the plug-in. CWE: CWE-94: Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') (CVE-2026-9072)
- IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty are vulnerable to denial of service in the WebSphere WebServer Plug-in component when an attacker can pass crafted requests to the web server. CWE: CWE-476: NULL Pointer Dereference (CVE-2026-10852)
- IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty are vulnerable to remote code execution and denial of service in the WebSphere Web Server Plug-in component. This vulnerability can be exploited when an attacker impersonates the application server and sends crafted responses to the plug- in. Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8.5.5.30, 9.0.5.28 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH71376.See Also
