Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the git packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

Git for Windows is the Windows port of Git. Prior to 2.53.0(2), it is possible to obtain a user's NTLM hash by tricking them into cloning from a malicious server. Since NTLM hashing is weak, it is possible for the attacker to brute-force the user's account name and password. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.53.0(2).(CVE-2025-66413)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS git security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected git packages.
