NVIDIA Windows GPU Display Driver (May 2026)

high Nessus Plugin ID 316513

Synopsis

The NVIDIA GPU display driver software on the remote Windows host is missing a vendor-supplied patch.

Description

A display driver installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A vulnerability exists in the kernel mode layer, where an attacker could leverage improper access to GPU resources, potentially leading to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, or data tampering. (CVE-2026-24190)

- A vulnerability exists where an attacker could cause a time-of-check time-of-use issue, potentially leading to denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, data tampering, and code execution. (CVE-2026-24191)

- A vulnerability exists where an attacker could cause an out-of-bounds write, potentially leading to denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, data tampering, and code execution. (CVE-2026-24193)

Note that Nessus has not attempted to exploit these issues but has instead relied only on the driver's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the NVIDIA graphics driver in accordance with the vendor advisory.
