Synopsis

The remote host has an application installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The remote host has a version of ImageMagick installed that is prior to 6.9.13-48 or 7.x prior to 7.1.2-23. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A crafted MSL image can trigger a heap-use-after-free in the MSL decoder. (CVE-2026-46523)

- Due to a missing depth check, a stack overflow can occur in the fx operation by passing a crafted argument.
(CVE-2026-46557)

- An incorrect check in the JP2 encoder will result in a heap buffer over-write of a single byte when specifying certain options. (CVE-2026-46559)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to ImageMagick version 6.9.13-48 / 7.1.2-23 or later.
