Synopsis

The remote host has an application installed that is affected by a container escape vulnerability.

Description

The version of Docker Desktop installed on the remote host is prior to 4.71.0. It is, therefore, affected by a container escape vulnerability:

- A container-to-host code execution vulnerability exists in the Docker Model Runner MLX inference backend.
An attacker with access to a container could exploit this to execute arbitrary code on the host system.
(CVE-2026-5843)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Docker Desktop version 4.71.0 or later.
