Unity Linux 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: cryptacular (UTSA-2026-016656)

high Nessus Plugin ID 316296

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-016656 advisory.

CiphertextHeader.java in Cryptacular 1.2.3, as used in Apereo CAS and other products, allows attackers to trigger excessive memory allocation during a decode operation, because the nonce array length associated with new byte may depend on untrusted input within the header of encoded data.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected cryptacular package.
