Palo Alto GlobalProtect App 6.0.x < 6.0.13 / 6.2.x < 6.2.8-h10 / 6.3.x < 6.3.3-h9 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Plugin ID 314669

Synopsis

A VPN client installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Palo Alto GlobalProtect App installed on the remote host is 6.0.x prior to 6.0.13, 6.2.x prior to 6.2.8-h10, or 6.3.x prior to 6.3.3-h9. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect app that enables a man in the middle attacker to disrupt system processes and potentially execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. (CVE-2026-0250)

- Multiple local privilege escalation vulnerabilities in the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect app allow a local user to escalate their privileges to NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM on Windows and root on macOS and Linux.
(CVE-2026-0251)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Palo Alto GlobalProtect App version 6.0.13, 6.2.8-h10, 6.3.3-h9 or later.
