Unity Linux 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: util-linux (UTSA-2026-017413)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 313784

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-017413 advisory.

An integer overflow in util-linux through 2.37.1 can potentially cause a buffer overflow if an attacker were able to use system resources in a way that leads to a large number in the /proc/sysvipc/sem file.
NOTE: this is unexploitable in GNU C Library environments, and possibly in all realistic environments.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected util-linux package.
