Synopsis

An application installed on the remote host is affected by a heap buffer overflow vulnerability.

Description

The version of LibreOffice installed on the remote host is prior to 25.8.7 or 26.2.3. It is, therefore, affected by a heap buffer overflow vulnerability:

 - An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the AgileEngine component of LibreOffice. An attacker can exploit this by crafting a malicious OOXML document with mismatched encryption salt parameters, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or application crash when the document is opened. (CVE-2026-4430)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to LibreOffice version 25.8.7 / 26.2.3 or later.
