Synopsis

The remote Red Hat CoreOS host is missing a security update for OpenShift Container Platform 4.2 openshift-external- storage.

Description

The remote Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS 4 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2019:4096 advisory.

 - kubernetes-csi: CSI volume snapshot, cloning and resizing features can result in unauthorized volume data access or mutation (CVE-2019-11255)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHCOS OpenShift Container Platform 4.2 openshift-external-storage package based on the guidance in RHSA-2019:4096.
