Synopsis

The remote Red Hat CoreOS host is missing a security update for OpenShift Container Platform 4.17.3.

Description

The remote Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS 4 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:8437 advisory.

 - Podman: Buildah: CRI-O: symlink traversal vulnerability in the containers/storage library can cause Denial of Service (DoS) (CVE-2024-9676)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHCOS OpenShift Container Platform 4.17.3 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:8437.
