Synopsis

The n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of the n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is prior to 1.123.32, 2.x prior to 2.17.4, or 2.18.x prior to 2.18.1. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability:

- An authorized user with workflow creation or modification capabilities can exploit prototype pollution through the XML Node to achieve remote code execution, particularly when combined with other nodes leveraging the pollution vulnerability. (CVE-2026-42232)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to n8n Node.js Package version 1.123.32, 2.17.4, 2.18.1, or later.
