Synopsis

The remote Atlassian Bamboo host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Atlassian Bamboo installed on the remote host is 9.6.x prior to 9.6.25, 10.x prior to 10.2.18, or 11.x prior to 12.1.6. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - An OS command injection vulnerability allows an authenticated attacker to execute commands on the remote system, which has high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (CVE-2026-21571)

 - A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in the io.netty:netty-codec-http2 dependency. A remote user can trigger a DoS against a Netty HTTP/2 server by sending a flood of CONTINUATION frames, causing excessive CPU consumption with minimal bandwidth. (CVE-2026-33871)

 - An HTTP request smuggling vulnerability in the org.apache.tomcat:tomcat-catalina dependency via invalid chunk extension. (CVE-2026-24880)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Bamboo version 9.6.25, 10.2.18, 12.1.6, or later.
