Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2026-29079

high Nessus Plugin ID 310823

Synopsis

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.

Description

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available.

- Lexbor is a web browser engine library. Prior to 2.7.0, a typeconfusion vulnerability exists in Lexbor's HTML fragment parser. When ns = UNDEF, a comment is created using the unknown element constructor. The comment's data are written into the element's fields via an unsafe cast, corrupting the qualified_name field. That corrupted value is later used as a pointer and dereferenced near the zero page. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.7.0. (CVE-2026-29079)

Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

Solution

There is no known solution at this time.
