Synopsis

The Microsoft ASP.NET installations on the remote host are affected by an elevation of privileges vulnerability.

Description

The Microsoft ASP.NET installations on the remote host are missing a security update. It is, therefore, affected by an elevation of privileges vulnerability:

 - Improper verification of cryptographic signature in ASP.NET Core allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. (CVE-2026-40372)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
