Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by an identity spoofing vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty running on the remote host is affected by an identity spoofing vulnerability as referenced in the 7270437 advisory.

 - IBM WebSphere Application Server - Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.4 IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty is vulnerable to identity spoofing under limited conditions when an application is deployed without authentication and authorization configured. (CVE-2026-3621)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty version 26.0.0.5 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH70352.
