Unity Linux 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2026-013187)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 308078

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-013187 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

wifi: ipw2200: fix memory leak in ipw_wdev_init()

In the error path of ipw_wdev_init(), exception value is returned, and the memory applied for in the function is not released. Also the memory is not released in ipw_pci_probe(). As a result, memory leakage occurs.
So memory release needs to be added to the error path of ipw_wdev_init().

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
